Rolou ontem o 71º Emmy Awards, considerado o Oscar da televisão. Como era de se esperar, Game of Thrones levou para casa o principal prêmio da noite, o Melhor Série Dramática, sendo que o último ano da série levou 12 das 32 indicações que tinha.
Com isso, a HBO, canal responsável pela produção, foi a grande vencedora da noite com 34 prêmios, seguida pela Netflix com 27 e Amazon em terceiro com 15 conquistas.
A noite também reservou algumas surpresas como a última temporada de Veep, que tinha algumas indicações, mas não levou nenhuma e Fleabag que foi a grande ganhadora do gênero comédia. Tanto a série quanto a sua criadora, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, desbancaram produções premiadas e aclamadas pela crítica.
